What is a hidden eyelid, is it beautiful or not? How to improve for beautiful eyes

In addition to double eyelids and monolids, hidden eyelids are also a fairly common eye shape among East Asians in general and Vietnamese people in particular. While they are familiar, hidden eyelids are often seen as a limitation in appearance for many, as they can make the eyes look tired, less attractive, and less harmonious with the face. So, what exactly are hidden eyelids? How can we enhance the eyes to look sharper? Let’s explore in the article below.

1. What are hidden eyelids and what types are there?

Hidden eyelids (also known by various names such as concealed eyelids, folded eyelids, or tucked eyelids…) refer to the condition where the crease above the eyelashes is not clearly defined, faint, or sometimes not visible at all. Signs of hidden eyelids include:

  • Individuals with double eyelids may have a crease that is faint or hidden behind excess skin and fat, making it difficult to see the crease when looking straight ahead.
  • The eyelids may have multiple overlapping folds, with no specific crease being clearly defined.
  • Sometimes the eyes may appear as monolids, but at other times they may look like double hidden eyelids.

Typically, hidden eyelids are divided into two types: single hidden eyelids and double hidden eyelids, with the following characteristics:

  • Single hidden eyelids:This refers to eyes that have a single, thin eyelid crease appearing on the skin above the eye. Upon observation, the crease may be located close to the lash line or further away, and its length is often quite short, making it insufficient to create a defined eyelid. As the features become more refined, the hidden eyelid crease becomes more pronounced.
  • Aging: As we age, the skin around the eyelids is more susceptible to aging, leading to decreased collagen production, loss of elasticity, and sagging of the upper eyelids; resulting in the appearance of a hidden eyelid crease, making the eyelid fold less visible.
  • Lifestyle: The skin around the eyes is very delicate and easily affected, so some unhealthy habits such as staying up late, excessive rubbing of the eyes, etc., can lead to premature aging, sagging, and obscuring the fold of the upper eyelid, thereby forming a hidden eyelid crease.
  • Injuries: According to experts, certain head injuries or medical treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy can accelerate the aging process of the skin, causing the tissues around the eyes to sag, blurring the eyelid fold and resulting in a hidden eyelid crease.

3. Are hidden eyelid creases beautiful or not?

Hidden eyelid creases do not harm health or vision. However, they can significantly affect the aesthetics of the eyes and the overall appearance of the face. Individuals with hidden eyelid creases may have eyes that appear less deep, look less vibrant, and convey a sense of sadness and unapproachability.

In terms of personality traits, men and women with hidden eyelids (*):
